UK denies militarisation around Falklands
by: From correspondents in London

BRITAIN has rejected claims by Argentina that it is militarising the South Atlantic after President Cristina Kirchner said she would complain to the UN over the disputed Falkland Islands.

Prime Minister David Cameron's spokeswoman said Britain's defences remained unchanged in the region, despite a spike in tensions ahead of the 30th anniversary of a war fought by the two countries over the archipelago.

"We are not militarising the South Atlantic. Our defensive posture in the South Atlantic remains the same," the Downing Street spokeswoman said.

"There is no suggestion that we need to increase our military presence, nor to increase our military assets in the Falkland Islands. We have already got quite a range of assets in the Falkland Islands."

Mr Cameron's spokeswoman also said the UN charter backed its case for control of the islands, which have been controlled by Britain since 1833.

"The people of the Falklands choose to be British. Their right to self-determination is a principle that is enshrined in the UN charter," the spokeswoman said.

Ms Kirchner said yeterday that Argentina would lodge a formal complaint with the United Nations, saying that British "militarisation poses a grave danger to international security".

Argentina has in recent weeks denounced the deployment of a British warship to the South Atlantic and the dispatch of Prince William, second in line to the throne, for a tour of duty as a search and rescue helicopter pilot.

Britain says the warship - although one of the most modern in its fleet - is replacing one that was already in the region and that William's deployment was a routine part of his job in the Royal Air Force.

London has refused to comment on reports that it has deployed a nuclear submarine to the region.

Mr Cameron's spokeswoman admitted that Britain had "contingency plans" for the Falklands but said they had "always" been in place.

Britain's Foreign Office said that the Falklands were discussed annually by a UN decolonisation committee and that it was for Argentina to bring up the issue at the UN Security Council or General Assembly if it wanted.

But it ruled out any talks, saying: "There will be no negotiations with Argentina on sovereignty unless the islanders wish it."

Britain is a permanent member of the UN Security Council and could automatically veto any attempt at a resolution on the issue.

Dick Sawle, a member of the legislature of the Falkland Islands, said he welcomed Argentina's plan to protest to the UN.

"The reason why I welcome that is that the United Nations ought to look at the decisions it has made in the past" which favour self-determination, he told BBC Radio.

Mr Sawle said that Falkland Islanders "do not wish to be taken over in any way, shape or form by Argentina, that is absolutely fundamental".

He said: "I do think that the British government is absolutely right to back that fundamental right that we have to self determination, and this is the cornerstone of the UN of course."

The Falklands War broke out on April 2, 1982, when the then ruling military junta in Buenos Aires invaded in a bid to end British rule and London sent a task force to the region.

The 74-day war cost the lives of 649 Argentine and 255 British troops and three Falkland Islanders, but Britain retained control.

HELICOPTERS are ferrying food and medicine to iced-in villagers as Europe's 12-day-old cold snap tightens its frigid grip on the continent, where
more than 400 have died as a direct result.

Eastern countries such as Poland and Ukraine account for more than half this total, and dozens more have succumbed to the weather's secondary effects, such as asphyxiation by shoddy heating.

Heavy snows eased in Bosnia but the bitter cold continued overnight, especially in the south and southeast, where temperatures dropped to minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Thousands struggled without power, including around the historic city of Mostar, where some 15,000 homes lacked electricity.

Uma Sinanovic, a spokeswoman for Bosnia's defence ministry, said areas around Nevesinje and Berkovici in the country's south were especially hard hit.

"The electricity has been down for two days, phone lines are also down in that region," Dragan Stark of the Bosnian Serb civil protection service said. "It's a disaster."

Bosnian authorities overnight sent civilian and military helicopters to isolated hamlets near Mostar and Kalinovic, bringing much-needed supplies and ferrying sick people to hospitals.

Five choppers delivered basic foodstuffs like flour and oil, lowering the supplies down by rope when landings were impossible.

The Bosnian authorities said that two more people had died from the cold in the rugged mountainous Balkan nation, raising the toll to seven, while Albania had its first victim, a man aged 37 found dead near Tirana.

Russian authorities announced at least 110 people had died as a result of the cold so far this year, 44 of them in the first week of February alone.

"Weather like this is only once in five years, it's usually much warmer," Moscow resident Pavel Sterlikov said.

Elsewhere, icebreakers were hard at work to clear parts of the Danube, one of Europe's main arterial waterways, with stretches of hundreds of kilometres frozen between Croatia and Bulgaria.

Serbia's ministry for infrastructure and energy banned navigation along all waterways within the country, including the Danube, Sava and Tisa rivers, because they were frozen, Beta news agency reported.

Deputy minister Pavle Galic told the agency the rivers could be closed for as long as 10 days.

More than 70,000 people remain cut off from the outside world in Serbia and other Balkan countries. In southern Croatia more than 100 villages were still isolated for the sixth consecutive day.

Miserable conditions persisted in Bulgaria, with violent snowstorms raging in the Danube plain in the northeast, where all traffic has been suspended since yesterday and where the main border crossing with Romania was closed due to ice.

Four more people were found dead under the snow in the Pernik region in the west of the country, raising the number killed by the cold to 20.

At least eight people drowned on Tuesday after rivers flooded and a burst dam sent freezing waters into the village of Biser. Authorities continued to search for two missing residents and Bulgaria announced a national day of mourning.

Officials warned that heavy snow storms could trigger floods when the spring melt begins, and the government was implementing urgent measures to strengthen dams and riverbeds.

Ukraine remained the worst-affected country, with hundreds of cars stranded on the Crimean peninsula and at least 131 deaths so far attributed to the cold, while three more people froze to death in Romania, bringing that country's total to 41.

The Hungarian Central Bank, meanwhile, said it literally had money to burn to help the country's homeless. The bank has been pulping wads of its retired forint banknotes and turning them into briquettes, which make useful heating fuel.

Famished wolves scavenged in the isolated, snow-covered Italian village of Trasacco, while keepers at the Berlin zoo imposed a cold-related curfew on the giraffes and antelopes, which will be kept inside for all but 2.5 hours each day.

Pope Benedict XVI urged Catholics and religious organisations on Wednesday to show solidarity and generosity to victims of the cold.

While conditions have been brutal for much of Europe, residents in the Netherlands were waiting with bated breath to see if the country's canals would freeze hard enough to allow a legendary ice-skating race to take place.

For the so-called Elfstedentocht (11 city) race to take place for the first time in 15 years, the ice needs to be at least 15 centimetres thick along the entire 200-kilometre route, but ice cover remains patchy along some stretches.

Canals were also frozen in the heart of Paris and the city authorities brought out their only ice-breaker, a barge equipped with a snow plough.

Sorry about all these cold penguins

But I never hear these journalists apologise
for having been taken in by - or actively whipped up -
the great global warming scare:

James Woodford in The Sydney Morning Herald, January 13, 1996:

A TRAGEDY is beginning to unfold for the creatures of the
zoologically rich Macquarie Island, with climate change in the Southern
Ocean occurring at the fastest rate on earth. Scientists now fear that a
94 per cent crash in the population of rock hopper penguins on New
Zealand’s Campbell Island is about to occur at Macquarie. Macquarie’s
population of rock hoppers, which has fallen from 6000 pairs in the
1970s
to 3000 pairs now, is estimated to have declined by a further 5
per cent this season. The increase in ocean temperatures may have
forced the krill into colder waters and, because the birds are so small,
they are unable to reach it, said Ms Cindy Hull, a zoologist at the
University of Tasmania. She is now concerned that the collapse in rock
hopper numbers may be a warning that numbers of the island’s three other
penguin species may soon also be affected by climate change.

Tasmania Parks & Wildlife website yesterday:

Macquarie Island is recognised for its rich and diverse animal life.
Around 3.5 million seabirds arrive on Macquarie Island each
year to breed and moult. Most of these are penguins. No accurate counts
of rockhopper penguins are known; estimates range from 10,000 to
500,000 breeding pairs.

Senator Arthur Sinodinos, formerly John Howard’s chief of staff,
has checked the ASIO files on Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon
and compared it with what Rhiannon claims.

And in a powerful speech to the Senate, he says:

In preparing for this, I was reminded of a quote
from the Spanish-American philosopher
George Santayana
that those who cannot remember the past
are condemned to repeat it…

Senator Rhiannon,
if you were not a neo-Stalinist, what were you?

Are the Greens just another front for you
and your Eastern bloc claque?

You owe the Senate and
the people of New South Wales and Australia
a full and frank explanation of all these matters.

Read on for Sinodinos’s speech:

Senator SINODINOS (New South Wales) (13:00):
I rise on a matter of public interest to do with my colleague Senator
Rhiannon and ASIO. In March 2010, in two speeches to the New South Wales
Legislative Council, the then Lee Rhiannon sought to discredit ASIO’s
surveillance of and files on her, claiming that they were riddled with
errors. Shortly afterwards, the questionable claims in her speeches were
reported as fact in a breathless newspaper article entitled ‘ASIO
spooks spied on little girls’. Thus Lee Rhiannon, who at the time was
vying for the Senate, was attempting to inoculate against objective
coverage of her 800-page ASIO file which had just been released by the
National Archives. In a blog on 3 September 2010 entitled ‘Responding to
attacks on my family and political background’, the now Senator
Rhiannon revisited the same theme while giving rose tinted accounts of
her early activism.

I have looked at Lee Brown, aka Gorman, aka Rhiannon’s ASIO files and I
must say I am impressed with their thoroughness and the obvious skill
involved in their compilation. While ASIO’s intelligence was not
perfect, as is to be expected, it was much, much better than Senator
Rhiannon has made out. Senator Rhiannon claims that ASIO’s ‘biggest
howler’ was ‘the assertion that I studied motor mechanics at UNSW’. This
is disingenuous. In fact, the ASIO report on the Young Socialist
League’s Marxist coaching seminar states that, ‘Lee Brown made the
general remark that she is studying motor mechanics at the University of
New South Wales, where she is currently employed as a lecturer’. ASIO
were not making that assertion; it was ASIO reporting Lee Brown’s own
words, a significant distinction I would have thought, since elsewhere
ASIO accurately record her university studies.

Recently it was disclosed that on 19 January 1970, as an 18-year-old
embarking on a voyage to the UK on the Russian vessel Shota Rustaveli,
Lee Brown was appointed to meet one Vladimir Alekseev from the Soviet
Embassy in cabin 190 on J-deck, where he would wait for her. An ASIO
intelligence file reveals that, when arranging this meeting, Alekseev
said that he was calling on behalf of one Ivan Stenin. An ASIO telephone
intercept reveals that the previous month Stenin had contacted
Rhiannon’s father who was intending to travel abroad before his daughter
by air to England, Switzerland and Russia. We now know of ASIO’s
conclusion that Stenin was a senior intelligence officer, and that many
believe that Vladimir Alekseev was the KGB station chief or ‘rezident’
at the Soviet Embassy in Canberra.

It is therefore timely to examine Senator Rhiannon’s ASIO file and to
test some of her other claims. In her 2010 blog she claimed that there
was no expectation she would follow in her parents’ political footsteps.
But in truth Senator Rhiannon was an in-vitro communist. According to
Mark Aarons, he and Lee Brown were ‘red-diaper babies’, a term by which
the Communist Party of Australia members affectionately referred to the
children of communists destined to inherit their parents’ political
genes. Rhiannon has perpetuated the line that ASIO began spying on her
when she was seven, because an ASIO precis-history of her activity has a
one-line record of her at a Tribune picnic in 1958. I think we can
assume that ASIO at the time was more interested in Rhiannon’s parents
and other communists than they were in Lee, precocious though she may
have been.

In fact, the first item in Senator Rhiannon’s ASIO file is a clipping
from an April 1955 edition of the CPA’s Tribune headlined ‘Kiddies’ big
part in May Day’, showing three-year-old ‘little Lee Brown’ dabbling at a
sign saying, ‘For me—Ban that H-bomb’ in preparation for the upcoming
May Day march. I am sure that ‘little Lee’ was oblivious to the Soviet
Union’s possession of the H-bomb which they had successfully tested two
years earlier. Rhiannon also claims ASIO inaccurately noted that she was
a founding member of the Eureka Students Organisation, in one stroke
glossing over her involvement with this organisation which was the CPA’s
youth wing, described by her father as being like the Pioneers. In its
heyday, the Pioneers was an international organisation for children,
operated by the Communist Party, which promoted sports and outdoor
skills while teaching communist principles. In actuality, Rhiannon’s
ASIO files record the application to attend the Junior Eureka League’s
1964 summer camp at age 13, her election as treasurer of the Junior
Eureka League’s South Sydney branch in 1965, her graduation from JEL and
her role as a Pioneer of the Souths branch.

By age 14, Lee was demonstrating against the Vietnam War. At 15, ASIO’s
files show she took part in a rowdy Eureka CPA protest against Prime
Minister Holt, participated in other protests, marches and communist
social functions, and attended a CPA Sydney district meeting. By age 16,
the ASIO files indicate that Lee did clerical work at CPA headquarters
during her school holidays. They also show that she was involved in
pamphleteering high schools, involved in Secondary Students for
International Tolerance and Equality and organising an anti-Vietnam War
peace ride to Canberra.

What the headline ‘ASIO spooks spied on little girls’ overlooks is that
the communists of the day did indoctrinate and attempt to use young
people and others
to further Soviet ambition, a fact ASIO was well aware
of.
The truth is that by the time Senator Rhiannon was 18, embarking
the Shota Rustaveli for the UK and who knows where else, she was a
hardened communist. It is easy to forget—and people born since may not
even appreciate—that during the Cold War the CPA was part of the
Comintern or Communist International which owed its loyalty to Moscow
and was dedicated to the revolutionary overthrow of our democratic
system
. The CPA received funding and took direction from the Soviet
Union, senior members regularly travelled to and trained in Russia, its
members infiltrated other organisations and agencies while a few were
involved in espionage against their own country, Australia.
In this
connection I note Laurie Aarons’s accusation contained in Mark Aarons’s
book The Family File that Senator Rhiannon’s father, Bill Brown,
procured spies for Ivan Skripov, the Soviet diplomat who was later
declared persona non grata and deported for spying in 1963.
I quote:

… he (Skripov) got onto Bill Brown who started to try
and get some people, and in fact, he got one or two people. I don’t
know what happened. It’s wrong in principle and also stupid to get
involved in that.

After the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, which the CPA had
criticised, the Soviets began courting Dick Dickson, Claude Jones and
Bill Brown to overthrow those in the CPA who had deviated from the
Moscow line. Dixon and Jones apparently refused. Jones knocked back the
usual bribery, saying, ‘I was offered any amount of money that I would
like to name from the CPSU’—the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. As
Mark Aarons put it:

As good punters, the embassy hedged its bets… and had
already put money on Bill Brown, who had previously demonstrated his
loyalty by assisting the KGB officer, Ivan Skripov.

This was Bill Brown’s hour. ASIO documents show that the Soviets—Stenin
in particular—had established a clandestine link with Bill Brown outside
of CPA channels and that communications increased dramatically after
the invasion of Czechoslovakia. Given all the above, but in particular
given Bill and Lee Brown’s involvement with the KGB agents Stenin and
Alekseev at exactly this time, is it any wonder ASIO’s director-general
asked British intelligence to be apprised if Lee Brown came to notice in
the UK.

Let us now examine Senator Rhiannon’s initial response to the
Australian’s story about her rendezvous with the KGB agent Vladimir
Alekseev. Firstly, she claimed it was based on ‘inaccurate ASIO
records’. Contrary to her previous claims, the ASIO records are
generally very accurate. Moreover, ASIO’s report of the telephone
intercept of Vladimir Alekseev’s call to her mother, Freda Brown, is
quite detailed. Secondly, she claimed the attempt to associate her
departure on a Russian cruise ship to potential spy activities was
ridiculous. That claim was not made. Thirdly, she said, ‘I’ve never been
a spy and no-one ever attempted to recruit me.’ Again, no-one made that
allegation. The suggestion was that the KGB wanted to cultivate her as a
long-term agent of influence.
Fourthly, she said, ‘Spy reports of me
being involved in clandestine meetings on board the ship are wrong.’ Did
you meet Alekseev or not? Fifthly, Senator Rhiannon played the ingenue,
just a young student, who was involved in some anti-Vietnam war
protests, embarking on a working holiday. I think we have established
she had a much longer rap sheet than that.

Senator Rhiannon may get away with this sort of fudging with her Eastern
bloc comrades in the New South Wales Greens; she cannot get away from
it here. As the Australian noted, Senator Rhiannon dismissed the report
of her rendezvous with Vladimir Alekseev as Cold War delusions but did
not deny the claim.

Finally, yesterday Senator Rhiannon, in a letter to the editor in the
Australian, asserted that to the best of her knowledge she had never met
a Russian spy and never attended a meeting on the ship—not a totally
unqualified denial. There are therefore a number of very serious
questions which Senator Rhiannon must answer. What was her involvement
with KGB agents Ivan Stenin and Vladimir Alekseev? Did she visit any
Eastern bloc countries in 1970-71? If so, which ones, why and precisely
when did she return to Australia? Did she attend the Lenin School during
any of her trips abroad?

In 2010 Senator Rhiannon promised that a full report on her ASIO file
would shortly be placed on her website. She never did this. I encourage
her to do so. It would be helpful to her and to the Senate. Perhaps she
could detail the extent of her involvement in plans to raise money for
North Vietnam, revealed in ASIO’s telephone intercept of 18 May 1972.
Senator Rhiannon may also care to confirm ASIO’s belief that she
authored a caustic letter to the Sydney Morning Herald on 26 February
1974—a fortnight after that giant of letters and human rights of the
20th century Alexander Solzhenitsyn was deported from the USSR and
stripped of his Soviet citizenship after the KGB found his manuscript
for the first part of The Gulag Archipelago. In the letter, one Lee
Brown took issue with the suggestion of Dick Klugman—a former Labor MP
and distinguished member of the lower house—that the Canberra street in
which the Soviet Embassy is situated be renamed Solzhenitsyn Avenue. She
suggested that streets around the US Embassy be renamed Watergate
Boulevard, Rosenberg Road and My Lai Memorial Avenue. The Rosenbergs, of
course, were executed for giving the Soviet Union atomic bomb secrets.

Lastly, in 2010 Senator Rhiannon said she did not support the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. I quote:

… My recollection is that we marched up
New South Head Road to the Soviet Consulate where there were speakers
long into the night ... Personally I did not support the invasion and to
conclude that when I was first getting involved in politics as a
teenager and in my early twenties I backed oppressive violent actions
against people in Czechoslovakia and Poland is ridiculous.

Curiously, ASIO’s extensive surveillance files of protests disclose no
record of Senator Rhiannon protesting the Soviet invasion of
Czechoslovakia. They do, however, disclose the existence of a 1975
document for the Young Socialist League detailing planning by one Lee
Brown for a forthcoming Czechoslovakian delegation tour to Australia. No
doubt she made a personal protest.

I conclude with this question. Senator Rhiannon, if you were not a
neo-Stalinist, what were you? Are the Greens just another front for you
and your Eastern bloc claque? You owe the Senate and the people of New
South Wales and Australia a full and frank explanation of all these
matters. I say to the Greens as a whole that in recent times there have
been disclosures in a magazine, the Monthly, about a so-called rift
within the Greens between the original Greens, who came to the movement
out of a conviction that more needed to be done on the environment, and
other groups which started to join later on. One of those groups came
out of New South Wales. The real issue for the Greens now is the fight
that is going on for the heart and soul of the Greens. The Greens are
split. The Australian people should know that and they should know that
there are people in New South Wales within the green movement who are
seeking to subvert the green movement as a whole. Finally, it has come
to my attention over time that there have been attempts by people on
the Left to ridicule and trivialise the work of ASIO during the Cold War.
ASIO did what they needed to do. I am sure they made mistakes along the
way, but we should not underestimate the threats that we faced. In an
open society we do need bodies like ASIO to help protect us against our
enemies.

PM's bodyguard under fire over cargo claims
by:Steve Lewis
From:Herald Sun
February 10, 2012 12:00AM

ONE of Julia Gillard's bodyguards is being investigated over
allegations he used the Prime Minister's plane to help run a private
business.

A member of the close personal protection team has allegedly
transported imported model helicopters in the RAAF Boeing 737's cargo
hold.

The Herald Sun has learned the Australian Federal Police officer
operates a business called Helipal Australia, which sells radio-controlled helicopters,
spare parts and other accessories used by toy aircraft enthusiasts.

On several occasions over the past eight months, while he and the PM were in Brisbane,
it is claimed he shipped goods to Canberra.

His colleagues believe that if true this could not only pose a potential security risk
but could damage the AFP's reputation.

There is no suggestion Ms Gillard or her staff were aware of any goods being transported.

An AFP professional standards internal inquiry began last month.

''As these inquiries are ongoing it is not appropriate to comment further at this stage,''
an AFP spokesman said.

''In general terms, the AFP treats all allegations of potential misconduct
or unprofessional behaviour seriously and investigates all allegations thoroughly.''

The man's colleagues are reportedly upset at the allegations.
''It reflects badly on us,'' one officer said.

The public service code of conduct bans employees from profiting by the use of Commonwealth assets.

It says individuals must ''not make improper use'' of their ''duties,
status, power or authority, in order to gain, or seek to gain, a benefit
or advantage''.

Particularly as "Billy Ruben" GETS EXTRA ANGRY
when baby fuckers ARE ALSO LINKED TO, 'respected'
positions, like say, THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY.

Speaking of which, how many have noticed that
"Billy Ruben" can't even get my husband's TRADE
OR NAME right, in his desperate efforts to SPIN BS
out of what I actually post?

Makes one wonder WHY "Billy Ruben" is NOT so keen
to 'defend', THE ACTUAL PERSON, but rather, DEFENDS
THE ACTUAL PERSON, BY TRYING TO IMPLICATE OTHERS.

Interesting to how "Billy Ruben" threatens me with
State and Federal Police for posting MAIN STREAM NEWS
AND ASKING WHY Police have NOT come for that pc
that someone loaded CHILD PORN on, WHILE I WAS
SLEEPING (Not alone), AT THE OTHER END of THE HOUSE.

Seems "Billy Ruben" NEEDS the world to believe that
the ONLY CORRUPT Police, are those "Billy Ruben"
'claims' to be 'fighting', NOT THOSE PROTECTING
CHILD PORN PEDDLERS, and REFUSING TO PROTECT
THEIR VICTIMS.

ANSWER: A shotgun.

“There are no moral absolutes so I’m doing what’s right by me.”

ANSWER: Me too. Look to the answer above.

“Every person reading this and other blogs will know
there are no moral absolutes in Australia....
Thus is the argument with which many
paedophiles rationalise their depravity.

Accusing them of depravity
will elicit a response of “Depraved for whom?
Morality is relative remember.”

ANSWER: No, it is not. A standard load of double-aught removes the relativity.

As a side note: whether you are Abraham, or Rock Spider -
you have selected the wrong subject to intellectualize.
I think I understand what you are trying to say -

Rock Spider has
written
a slippery piece on moral relativism.

Paedophiles
have a way of writing in code.

They have a way of lumping certain things together
and telling you they’re on your side
as they jumble around with terms
and ask too cute by half questions like;
‘am I being intolerant and judgemental?’

Before you know it, you end up accepting that sixties flower children

belong in the same theoretical category as ‘sexual relationships with children’.

Paedophiles work subtly and sublimely.

They know how to groom children and they appear to know how to groom bloggers.

Do I know absolutely that Rock Spider is a paedophile? Of course not!

But I do recognise something in his writing
because I have read it before

and it’s been written by child rapists
who call themselves ‘boy lovers’.

true lilly wrote:I won’t peddle the theories, if they don’t peddle the conspiracies
Andrew Bolt – Saturday, February 11, 12 (11:22 am)

Look, if global warmists don’t want sceptics to peddle conspiracy
theories about a “one world government”, it would help a lot if
they didn’t have something like it on the drawing board:

<blockquote>At a closed-door retreat in a Long Island mansion
late last October, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and his
topmost aides brainstormed about how the global organization could benefit from a “unique opportunity” to reshape the world, starting with the Rio + 20 Summit on Sustainable Development, which takes place in Brazil in June.

A copy of the confidential minutes of the meeting was
obtained by Fox News. According to that document, the 29-member group,
known as the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for
Coordination (CEB), discussed bold ambitions that stretch for years
beyond the Rio conclave to consolidate a radical new global green
economy, promote a spectrum of sweeping new social policies and build an
even more important role for U.N. institutions “ to manage the process
of globalization better."…

Its members see Rio as the springboard for consolidation of an expanding
U.N. agenda for years ahead, driven by still more U.N.-sponsored global
summits that would, as one participant put it, “ensure that the U.N.
connected with the roots of the current level of global discontent.”

Among other things, the CEB heard Ban’s top organizer, a U.N. Under
Secretary General from China named Sha Zukang, declare that the wish
list for the Rio + 20 meeting, already being touted as a landmark
environmental conclave on the issue of “global environmental
governance,” included making it:
<blockquote> “the catalyst” for solidifying a global economic, social and political agenda, built around “green economy” goals

a means to “reorient public and private decision-making” to make the
world’s poorest people the new economy’s “main beneficiaries,”

a method of also reorienting national decision-making in countries
around the world to put the new agenda “at the heart of national
ministries,”

the occasion to create new bodies, like a U.N. Sustainable
Development Council, similar to the U.N. Human Rights Council, to help
guide the global process further in the years ahead, or give additional
responsibilities to the U.N. Environmental Program (UNEP), the world
body’s chief environmental agency.</blockquote>

Other participants chimed in with additional ideas, including the notion
from one key organizer that “the U.N. in Rio should be the voice of the
planet and its people.”

</blockquote>UPDATE

One World Government? Greens leader Bob Brown would approve:

The Pixie Ear-Wax Rudd has announced the appointment of Qld Governor Quentin

Bryce as the next Governor General to replace Jefferies.

Bryce is supposedly a reformed alcoholic and
former President of The Qld Abuised Child Trust.

When presented with the Lindeberg Petition in relation to the Heiner Affair,
Bryce is known to said “it (The Heiner Affair) represents a boil which
cannot be lanced”.

A copy of the Lindeberg Petition can be obtained from the internet and has
been tabled in the Australian Senate and House of Representatives.

The petition included details of the destruction of the Heiner Documents
including details of the pack rape of “Annette”.

This is far worse than the situation involving the Howard government’s
appointment of Archbishop Hollingsworth.

Hollingsworth at no time was facing the prospect of being charged with a
criminal offence. Bryce on the other hand is facing the prospect of criminal
charges. This matter is currently before the Qld PCMC and by an unamious
decision the committee is believed to have requested a further submission
from Mr Lindeberg’s lawyers in relating to a solution to the grave impasse.

It should be noted that when a House of representatives Committee, chaired
by Bronwyn Bishop, looked at the Heiner Affair, including The Lindeberg
Grievance, it recommended the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry
(Royal Commission) and the appointment of a Special Prosecutor to process
the criminal charges.

Mrs Bryce is believed to be one of the sixty five individuals mentioned in
the Rofe Audit. This report was prepared by David Rofe QC a leading Sydney
barrister for Kevin Lindeberg. Mr Rudd is also one of the sixty five
individuals in the audit.

THE PROPOSED APPOINTMENT OF QUENTIN BRYCE TO THE POSITION OF GOVERNOR
GENERAL SHOULD BE SEEN AS AN ATTEMPT BY KEVIN THE PIXIE EAR-WAX RUDD TO
STAVE OFF THE POSSIBILITY OF HIM BEING SACKED AS PRIME MINISTER AFTER HIS
CRIMINALITY IN THE HEINER AFFAIR HAS BEEN EXPOSED

Finally the Liberals will have to bite the bullet and find their balls over
THe Heiner Affair.

Flannery Centre washed out
Andrew Bolt – Friday, February 17, 12 (06:05 am)

Poetry. Construction of the Flannery Centre, named after the Chief Climate Commissioner who predicted ”the rain that falls isn’t actually going to fill our dams and river systems” in a permanently drier ”new climate”, has been again delayed. By rain.

If the sceptics’ conspiracy was real, why fake the evidence?
Andrew Bolt – Friday, February 17, 12 (12:05 am)

The problem with the
great international conspiracy of climate sceptics is that it’s so small
and innocent that a disappointed warmist who steals documents from the
Heartland Institute finds they must fake the main one to get media attention.

Sounds a bit like their tree-ring research.

please look at who’s funding who in the climate zoo.

Fear of Rinehart is the Left’s fear of debate.

Andrew Bolt

Ian Hanke mocks the hysteria of the Left over Gina Rinehart’s purchase of Fairfax shares -
a hysteria illustrating the maxim that while conservatives think their
opponents are merely wrong, the Left think theirs are evil:

<blockquote>The mining magnate, Australia’s richest person,
appears to be someone whose mere name spreads alarm throughout the left.
Among the cadres of sometimes complacent and compliant journalists, she
is deemed to be a right-wing ogre.

It seems that by taking a substantial shareholding in Fairfax Media
(which owns this newspaper as well as The Sydney Morning Herald and The
Australian Financial Review), this one person is going to tear down
society - and the media will be a tool, putty in her hands, to do just
that....

Rinehart’s views, according to people who don’t know her, are on the
‘’far right of the political spectrum’’, as academic and former Greens
candidate Clive Hamilton told readers of this page yesterday. Rinehart
has been vilified because she appears not to share the left’s concerns
about climate change and because she is advocating turning the north of
Australia into a special economic zone with tax breaks.

Nothing new in that; it has been advocated for years.

Apparently she knows the businessman Hugh Morgan, who was instrumental
in setting up the H. R. Nicholls Society, which advocates workplace
relations reform. And Morgan, we are told, is also close to the - shock,
horror - Institute of Public Affairs, which supports liberalism and a
free market.

It is clear Rinehart must be a fiend, albeit via association....

In 2010 she bought a substantial stake in Channel Ten. It is alleged,
without much evidence, she was responsible for The Bolt Report, the show
hosted by controversial columnist Andrew Bolt - and, of course, Bolt is
anathema to the left because he refuses to bow to their orthodoxy.

Yet let us just say, for the sake of argument, that Rinehart was indeed
responsible for the commissioning of The Bolt Report. That program, with
its ‘’unorthodox view’’, consistently out-rates Ten’s more traditional
Meet the Press. People seem to like watching The Bolt Report, where
alternative views are given an airing. Can’t have that, can we?…

Yet some on the left seem to believe her views should preclude Rinehart
from sitting on the Fairfax board… What is wrong with a person with an
alternative view of the world to that of the self-appointed guardians of
the media sitting on the board of a media company?

</blockquote>
The more that Age journalists particularly rail against
Rinehart, the more they advertise their paper’s most fatal weakness - a
fierce hostility to the airing of ideas other than their
unrepresentative own. Journalistically, that’s a crime. Commercially
it’s a disaster for two reasons. First, papers are far livelier if they
provoke and are open to debates. Second, papers which circulate heavily
in Liberal-voting electorates should not present an almost exclusive
diet of the Left talking to the Left.

But here I am, suggesting ways to save Fairfax newspapers, which compete with my employer’s. I should shut up and let them die…

UPDATE

Catallaxy Files is right

. This piece of satire by Rowan Dean is excellent:
<blockquote>
Acting Greens leader Christine Milne was quick to express her dismay.
“This is a national scandal,” she said. “If you have a couple of people
using newspapers as a mouthpiece, that is a real problem.

“For years, we in the Greens have had a total monopoly on all discussion
about climate change and the long-overdue, successful and hugely
popular implementation of the much-loved carbon tax, which is going to
solve the global problem of an overheating planet that we daily see all
around us destroying the lives of millions of people and obliterating
entire species as massively populated islands disappear beneath the
waves before our very eyes. The last thing a democratic, vibrant and
free press needs is someone who disagrees with us.”

</blockquote>
UPDATE

A particularly vicious, misleading and sexist photo montage on the Sydney Morning Herald website - comparing Rinehart to Victoria Beckham, and falsely insinuating Rinehart thought herself such a clotheshorse, too - has been replaced.
It’s astonishing what some people feel entitled to do to others in the
name of virtue. Luckily someone at the paper still has some standards.

UPDATE

Meanwhie another super-rich boss with strong political views gets himself a media asset - yet this time it’s to general applause of the Fairfax media:

<blockquote>Graeme Wood, who shot to national fame and incredible wealth with the
2006 listing of his Web 2.0 hotel booking site Wotif.com in 2006, ... is
currently funding (a) new journalistic enterprise, The Global Mail.
The Global Mail will be headed by well-known journalist Monica Attard
and has recently unveiled a team of senior journalists who will be
reporting on a range of local and global issues through the
organisation’s website.

</blockquote>
That is Wood, as in the global warming alarmist who made the single biggest individual political donation in Australian history - to the Greens. A cool $1.6 million.

Now he’s got former ABC Media Watch host Monica Attard to help assemble a like-minded cabal of journalists of the Left,
with not a single known conservative among them. There’s Ellen Fanning,
for instance, Mike Bowers, Stephen Crittenden, Mike Seccombe and more -
none likely to buck the Wood view of the world, which this publication
will almost certainly promote.

And this is branded on the website - no kidding - as “Independent
Journalism for Independent Minds”. Do these wordsmiths even understand
the meaning of the word “independent”?

That Wood should be able to stock such a publication with so many
willing journalists from the ABC and Fairfax says so much about the
leaning of those two media organisations, and what the real objection to
Rinehart is.

Warming sceptic wants a newspaper: evil and to be fought. Warming
alarmist wants a newspaper: terrific, and where do we sign up?

(Thanks to reader Watty.)

Boat people offered as much in free goodies as they paid to come
Andrew Bolt – Friday, February 17, 12 (07:07 am)

So a people smuggler goes to, say Quetta or some other city in Pakistan,
and shows a bunch of young guys this news item about a land of free
electronics and houses grander than their own:

<blockquote>WASHING
machines, microwave ovens, DVDs and plasma TVs are among a 60-item
welcome gift pack for asylum seekers offered rent-free homes in the
community.

To fulfil a promise to move an influx of families out of detention, the
Gillard Government is now fitting out each home with up to $10,000 worth
of furnishings and electronics.

They are given food hampers upon arrival at rented homes where they wait for their claims to be processed…

Everything from beds, fridges, mattresses and lounges to an alarm clock
radio, clothes hangers and containers for biscuits are being bought in a
“household goods formation package” that contains more than 60 items.

It includes a television at a minimum size of 53cm.

An average family of five is eligible for $7100 worth of goods, while
larger families of more than nine people can be provided with up to
$9850 in furnishings, the Opposition has revealed after Senate estimates
this week.

Special consideration is given to providing computers, internet access,
mobile phones, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, iPods, games consoles
and sewing machines.

</blockquote>
So that people smuggler makes an offer. Pay me $10,000,
and I can get you to Australia where you’ll be given almost as much in
electronic goods - plus welfare for life, or the chance to earn more
money in a year than you’ll earn here in a decade. Once in, you can
sponsor the rest of your family to come over legally.

Now, guess what happens next?

IT’S been one year since the inaugural Wallace Wants a Wife,
and the region’s farmers are still looking for love.

In just a few weeks up to 500 people are expected to descend upon the
farming town for the second annual event, with a date now set for March 3.

Wallace Hotel publican Andrea Wilson said she had already sold
tickets to 200 people, including a group of girls who put their names
down to attend 12 months ago – the day after attending last year’s event.

“I said to them, ‘How do you know you’ll still be single then?’
and they said they just didn’t want to miss out,” Ms Wilson said.

“It turns out they are still single and they’ve bought tickets.”

The matchmaking night is open to anyone aged between 25 and 95,
and so far people of all ages have registered.

“I think the eldest person to register is one of our farmers – who’s 72,” Ms Wilson said.

“We have a lot of people – especially girls – coming on their own,
and a lot of people coming from Melbourne.

“It’s about just having a bit of fun and breaking the ice.”

Ms Wilson said she knew of a few couples who were still together after meeting
at the event last year.

But she said many of the romances had been fleeting.

“Most of the couples who are still together today are on the mature side – a
lot of the younger ones seem to have broken up,” she said.

Twenty-five-year-old Gordon farmer Stuart Miller said he and his friends
had attended last year’s event, and were planning on returning this year.

“Everyone I’ve spoken to is pretty much going,” he said.

“I met one girl (last year), and we went on a few dates, but that was it.”

Mr Miller was coy on whether this year would be the year he found love.

“We’ll see what happens,” he said.

Tickets to the event are $20 and are available to purchase by contacting

THE high value of the Australian dollar
has boosted the spending power
of households the past decade,
the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) says.

RBA Deputy Governor Phillip Lowe today said
households were reaping the benefit of the currency's high value.

He said that while household incomes had grown by around 60 per cent
in the past decade, the Australian dollar's rise meant that the price paid
for many manufactured goods had remained, on average, virtually unchanged.

"The stable prices for many goods, combined with strong disposable income growth,
means there is more disposable income to be spent on services," he said in
an address to the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) in Sydney.

He said that a once-in-a-century investment boom, fuelled by demand for Australian
resources, was the main reason for the currency's strength.

However, he said, the boost to disposable incomes had come at the expense of
a number of industries.

"The effects of the high exchange rate are evident in the manufacturing,
tourism and education sectors, as well as some parts of the agriculture
sector and, more recently, in some business services sectors.

"In some cases, this is prompting renewed investment to improve firms' international competitiveness.

"But in other cases, businesses are scaling back their operations in Australia and
some are closing down."

Dr Lowe said that both the investment boom and the Australian dollar's
high value were historically unusual events and it was difficult to assess their
net effect on the economy.

However, he said, the two forces appeared to have balanced each other out
relatively evenly in the past few years.

He said that the outlook for the Australian economy remained strong with
gross domestic product (GDP) and inflation expected to grow around
trend over the coming years.

As a result, he said, the country was well-placed to deal with any flow-on effects
from Europe's sovereign debt crisis.

"We have much more flexibility to deal with unfolding events
than almost any other developed economy."

So, how goes liberated LIbya, freed from the tyrant’s yoke?

Armed militias in Libya are committing human rights abuses with impunity,
threatening to destabilize the country and hindering its efforts to rebuild,
Amnesty International said Thursday.

Militias have tortured detainees, targeted migrants and displaced entire
communities in revenge attacks, according to a report the organization
released a year after the start of popular uprisings that eventually
ended Moammar Gadhafi’s 42-year rule.

“Hundreds of armed militias, widely hailed in Libya as heroes
for their role in toppling the former regime, are largely out of control,” the report says.

Had this been the work of George Bush and not Barack Obama, I suspect
you’d have seen a little more media curiosity about the results of the
West’s prolonged and largely counterproductive intervention.

Green by name, ABC presenter by profession
The ABC’s latest recruit for current affairs presentation duties
is even further to the Left than usual.

Indeed, Jonathan Green is soft on former (?) supporters of Left totalitarians,
while smearing mainstream conservative parties as neo-Nazis.

Gerard Henderson describes Green’s recent group-hug with Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon:

Let’s take the following question, where JG gave Rhiannon a “free kick”
by using the are-you-a-member-of-the-Communist-Party question
once favoured by the discredited anti-communist Joe McCarthy.
Let’s go to the transcript:

Jonathan Green: Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?

Lee Rhiannon: I was not a member of Communist Party. But I was a member of
the Socialist Party and I worked on a whole range of issues with my
colleagues around international disarmament, women’s rights, issues
to do with unemployment – and I continue to see that these are important issues.

This is a cop-out… The facts are known – by Jonathan Green and others.

- When Lee Rhiannon joined the Socialist Party of Australia in 1970-71,
it was the pro-Soviet Union part of the communist movement…

- From around 1970 until the collapse of the European communism in 1990,
Lee Brown – who became Lee O’Gorman by marriage and Lee Rhiannon by deed poll

was associated with the SPA, which received funds from the Soviet Union.
Lee O’Gorman edited the pro-Moscow journal Survey for some of this time
– including its final edition in 1990.

- Lee Rhiannon refuses to answer questions as to whether her travels to
communist Eastern Europe in the 1970s and 1980s were funded – in whole or in part –
by the Communist regimes in East Germany and the like.

- Senator Rhiannon also refuses to say whether
she studied at the Lenin School in Moscow in 1977.
The Lenin School was a training ground for pro-Moscow communists the world over.

On all these matters, JG let Senator Rhiannon off the hook.
Earlier in the interview, he did ask her about Christian Kerr’s recent articles
in The Australian which – based on ASIO’s now released files – demonstrated
that she was contacted by Vladimir Alekseev in 1970, the KGB’s man in
the Soviet Embassy in Australia. However, JG’s questioning was soft –
of the: “Were you a KGB informer?” genre. Senator Rhiannon replied
in the negative.

Compare and contrast:

On 11 January 2011, Jonathan Green appeared on the ABC TV The Drum program ...
(to discuss) a controversial neo-Nazi festival, which was planned for the Gold Coast
in Queensland. The festival in question was called the “Hammered” and its organisers
included such white supremist groups as “Blood and Honour”.

During the studio discussion, Jonathan Green declared:
“We shouldn’t trivialise this folks, it’s nasty.” Quite so. However,

when it was put in the discussion that if the event had not been criticised
no one would have known about it, Jonathan Green agreed – declaring :

It would be just another day on the Gold Coast
and everyone would think it was an LNP fundraiser…

During the same program, Jonathan Green compared “the John Howard
leadership” style with that of the dictator Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
According to Green, both men held the view that if they step down “it
will be at the will of the people”.

This is why family entertainment at the Green household has included

beating a Howard effigy with a stick.

Our” ABC is committed to every kind of diversity except diversity of thought.

Latest evidence?
the editor of its new on-line opinion section Jonathan Green,
who has been not only the editor of the
far-Left Crikey website, but a proud member of Victoria’s Pinata Left as well. Yes, that’s John Howard hanging from Green’s tree:

[The image of the Howard pinata in
Green’s tree that was here has been taken down by order of Green friend
Sophie Cunningham, the owner of the site which proudly displayed the
picture for two years but now fears it may hurt Green to be shown on
this blog.]

It must be Green’s politics that particularly appealed to the ABC.
Why else hire a
largely unread blogger?

Of course, I may be wrong. Maybe the ABC’s online section will indeed
prove under Green to be fair and balanced. One clue will be who the ABC
hires to balance both Green and its other on-line signing, Annabel Crabb.

UPDATE

I’d also urge the ABC to be very careful of
Green’s quality control
over his writers and blog readers. I was forced recently to write the
following to his boss, Eric Beecher, the famous campaigner for “quality
journalism”, and am still considering my options, as they say:

Last week I drew your attention to comments and blog
postings you had published over the space of just a few days calling me

a “proven liar”, “nutty”, “unhinged”, “underhand”, “loopy”, “paranoid”, a
“hypocrite”, a “racist”, “dishonest”, “hysterical”, “petty”,
“evasive”, “deluded”, “irrational”, lacking in morality, someone guilty
of “deliberately misrepresenting” people, “full of poisonous shit”, and a
“notorious liar” who practices “lies, misrepresentations, and deceit”,
“lies, distortions and smears”, “fakery” and “cowardice and
dishonesty”, while giving “tacit approval” to “extremist sickos” and
“playing the paranoid schizo’’, resembling in my person an “asylum for
the criminally insane”. You conceded that these comments included a
number of statements that were “untrue and unnecessarily personal in
tone”.

Since then one of Green’s writers
has urged in a headline that I be ”
sodomised,
and his site has said of me that “we are dealing with fascism,
plain and simple’’ and, referring to me and my readers,
“I sometimes think Stalin had the right idea -
line a million or so of ‘em up against a wall”.

Yesterday I was named in a Crikey article as someone so corrupt
as be evidently driven to scepticsm by “a desire for funds from
fossil-fuel companies”, and was smeared besides as “undoubtedly more
dangerous” than a “Holocaust denier”, and, in time, ”
morally worse”.

I hope the ABC’s lawyers are ready for the exciting new brand of
“quality journalism” coming their way. I’m still considering how to
respond to Crikey’s “quality journalism”, especially after this latest
foul claim
, and any lawyer should consider themselves free to advise.

(I mention this because I’ve just received a furious call from some
person whose identity I cannot reveal saying I’d crossed a line. If the
line was drawn by Green, I’d still need a telescope to find it.)

tourism and education sectors, as well as some parts of the agriculture
sector and, more recently, in some business services sectors.

What are you trying to say True Lilly.

Sod's the captain of this dinghy,he has alot of coke in his nose.In fact,so did Hitler, when he said,"Russie, why not".

I could do with a line of coke right now.Feeling a bit low, from all that 'orrible sugar.

But what are you hinting at True Lilly. We all know you just don't reprint news stories for the fun of it.Are you trying to scare Sod.He's quite proud of it,to be honest.I only just figured out how he gets into swingers clubs without a wife to share.

Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn

Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been summoned for questioning.
Herald Sun

FORMER IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn is to be quizzed as a
suspect about involvement in an alleged illegal prostitution ring,
according to a source familiar with the case.

He has been summoned for questioning on Tuesday and can be held for
up to 48 hours without being charged during a police investigation into
the organization of sex parties in restaurants and swingers' clubs in
Paris, Washington, Madrid, Vienna and Ghent, Belgium.

He could face charges if magistrates deem he was aware the women who took part
were prostitutes and the funds to pay them were fraudulently obtained,
as is being alleged against other suspects.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, resigned as director of the International Monetary Fund in May
after he was accused of raping a maid in a New York hotel. He returned to France
in August after the US case collapsed, only to face new allegations.

First, a 32-year-old writer accused him of attempting to rape her in
2003, but, while prosecutors said there was prima facie evidence of
sexual assault, the case was too old to pursue.

Then he was implicated in an entirely separate investigation into the alleged
prostitution ring said to have operated out of luxury hotels in the
northern French city of Lille.

Magistrates already charged several leading local figures with organizing the ring,
and there are suspicions that a construction company executive used his firm's money
to entertain guests at sex parties.

The media also carried reports of Strauss-Kahn attending parties in a Paris hotel
with Lille's chief of police and the alleged kingpin of the ring "Dodo la Saumure,"
who runs massage parlors in Belgium.

He had demanded to be questioned by judges leading the inquiry, hoping to halt what his lawyers branded a "media lynching."

Once seen as the favorite to oust Nicolas Sarkozy
and win April's French presidential election,
Strauss-Kahn is now an embarrassment to his Socialist Party,
shunned by the campaign and former close allies.

He still faces a civil suit from the New York hotel maid.

Sinister surgeon deceives 152 women

EXCLUSIVE:
A ROGUE surgeon performed unnecessary,
unauthorised and - in some cases -
botched surgery on 152 WA women
in a suspected money-making scheme.

Source: PerthNow

A ROGUE surgeon performed unnecessary, unauthorised - and in some
cases botched surgery - on 152 WA women in a suspected money-making
scheme.

In 141 cases, he risked serious complications, including making the women infertile.
In several other cases, the now-banned medico was responsible for horrific blunders.

His reckless actions carried on unchecked in Perth hospitals for more than
four years before he was stopped and banned. Until today, the scandal
has been cloaked in secrecy because of a court order obtained by the
wealthy surgeon's lawyers.

After a marathon and expensive legal fight, The Sunday Times can finally tell the WA public what happened. But it still cannot name the surgeon.

His patients have told of major surgical errors such as attaching the
uterus to the bowel, slicing arteries, performing vaginal "resizings"
when they were not needed and incorrectly performed internal procedures.

In 2009, the surgeon, who has since fled the country, pleaded
guilty to misconduct and gross carelessness before the State
Administrative Tribunal.

One charge related to him performing unnecessary secondary operations without the consent of his patients.

After delivering babies through caesarean sections, he removed benign
growths, known as fimbrial cysts, from patients' fallopian tubes. These
ranged in size from pinheads to large marbles.

He did not tell his patients or seek their consent for the added procedure which netted
him extra money despite the heightened risk of infertility and other
serious complications.

A confidential Health Department briefing paper obtained by The Sunday Times
shows that between October 2001 and January 2006 the surgeon performed
these extra operations on at least 141 patients after he delivered their
babies. Eleven gynaecological procedures were also identified.

Authorities first discovered irregularities in September 2005, according to the paper.

It referred to the surgeon's "billing practice" billing hospitals for the
original operations and the removal of the cysts, which reaped him an
extra $384 to $492 a patient.

The "billing practice" significantly increased during 2004 and 2005.

In May 2006, the Medical Board won an interim order to stop the surgeon
performing the second operations. A month later, it applied to
indefinitely suspend the surgeon.

A full briefing on the case was provided to then South Metropolitan Area Health Service
chief executive Peter Flett, then health director Neale Fong and former health minister
Jim McGinty in August 2007. They all agreed that "open disclosure" should occur to all patients who "may" have suffered some harm, according to the briefing.

A month later, authorities began making contact with patients. Twenty-four cases were deemed serious enough to require senior health staff to phone patients and tell them to
seek immediate medical attention.

Of those, six were referred to specialists for further checks. Other patients were sent letters
informing them they had secondary surgery they did not know about.

Over the same period, several patients filed complaints with the Medical
Board over botched gynaecological procedures by the same surgeon.

Thirteen proceedings were launched by the Medical Board against the surgeon,
involving nine patients.

The first case, which was filed in November 2005, involved an incorrectly
performed hysterectomy that left the woman completely numb in her uterus region.

Another case involved repeated botched gynaecological operations on a 16-year-old.

The surgeon left WA in early 2007.

In March 2009, he was permanently stripped of his right to work as a
doctor in WA after he was found guilty of "disgraceful or dishonourable"
conduct for lying about the complaints against him while trying to get
work in South Africa.

Almost all the details of the scandal
had been kept secret because a
blanket suppression order was granted

after the surgeon's lawyers argued
he was at risk of self-harm
if the case became public.

The Sunday Times won a partial lifting of the order, allowing it to publish today's story.
The newspaper spent more than $120,000 in its legal battle. More victims of the surgeon
may now surface.

The WA Health Department issued a statement on Friday about the surgeon.

It said: "Dr X was regularly billing for secondary medical procedures
while performing obstetric and gynaecological surgery. Independent
reviews found that these procedures were not medically indicated.

"WA Health reported Dr X to the WA Medical Board in 2006 following concerns
about his practices. Immediate action was taken to stop him from
operating in WA and a clinical review was conducted to determine the
number of women who may have been affected by the additional secondary
procedures. He ceased employment at WA Health in early 2006.

"WA Health identified 141 obstetric and 11 gynaecological patients who may have been affected by the secondary procedures.

WA Health contacted the women, but was unsuccessful in 13 cases despite all efforts.

"These women have been offered counselling and referral to a medical specialist if necessary," the report said.

"WA Health condemns the actions of this doctor and regrets any harm and distress he has caused patients and their families."

A Medical Board official said: "Ultimately the practitioner was deregistered as a result of the action taken by the board.

"Surgical procedures generally involved risk to the patient and it is
unacceptable to carry out any surgical procedure unnecessarily.

"It is also unacceptable to carry out a surgical procedure
without the patient having given his or her consent.

Review to probe delays in Craig Thomson inquiry
By Malcolm Farr, National Political Editor

Overall inquiry has taken three years
$400,000 just to speed the probe up

Thomson denies any wrongdoing

Slow moving inquiry into the Member for Dobell Craig Thomson
has already costs hundreds of thousands.

LABOR'S problem MP Craig Thomson today said he wanted the Fair Work Australia inquiry into him finished as soon as possible.

More than $400,000 has been spent since September trying to hurry
up the probe into the allegations, but the report is still at least a
month away.

He spoke out today to slam claims of political interference in the investigation
into his period as a (HEALTH SERVICES) union chief.

Mr Thomson said the claims were nonsense and had been countered by the
general manage of Fair Work Australia Bernadette O'Neill at a Senate
committee today.

"There is clearly no benefit for me or for the government
for this case to go on as long as it has," said Mr Thomson in a statement.

"From a personal point of view, the sooner the investigation is finished, the better."
Mr Thomson repeated that "I have done nothing wrong".

"I have fully cooperated with the investigations and I look forward to them concluding'" he said.

"I note that the only investigation to have already concluded, that of the
New South Wales Police, did not find any wrongdoing by me."

Directors of Fair Work Australia, which has been running the probe for more than
three years, today admitted there were "legitimate questions'' as to why
the inquiry has taken so long.

And they told consultants KPMG
would be holding an independent review of the investigation and the
"unreasonably long time" it has taken.

They tried to speed up matters late last year. About half of the $900,000 the inquiry
has been billed by the Solicitor-General for assistance in the inquiry went to
attempts to hasten finalisation of the report.

The admissions of tardiness are certain to be raised by the Opposition in Parliament.

However, directors of FWA told a Senate estimates committee the inquiry was
unprecedented and part of the delay was that one respondent to the
inquiry has not yet replied to a draft report. The directors said they
were unable to name any of the respondents for legal reasons as the
inquiry was still underway.

Since April, 2009, Fair Work Australia has been investigating claims, including alleged
misuse of credit cards for the payment of prostitutes, against Craig Thomson when
he was national secretary of the Health Services Union.

The Opposition is keen for a report to be finalised as an adverse finding
could lead to charges against the Labor member for Dobelle, and a
conviction force him out of Parliament. The Opposition also would
consider a vote of no confidence against the Government he was a member
of, based on an adverse finding.

The political sensitivity of the issue has added to pressure on FWA.

"I'm of the view that on the face of it the investigation has taken an
unreasonably long time," said FWA director Bernadette O'Neill today.

"And that that raises legitimate questions as to why it has taken so long."

Ms O'Neill said, "These investigations are unprecedented in terms of size
and scale and complexity and are unprecedented and only a very small
number have been undertaken. So I do think there are inevitably lessons
to be learned about the conduct of the investigations."

Another FWA director, Terry Nassios, acknowledged to the committee that the
investigators had indicated late last year the final report would be
ready in January.

"As at mid-October...I was working on a timeline that by mid-November those letters
(to respondents) would have been sent out," said Mr Nassios.

He had thought the investigation would be over by November-December. But he had "misjudged the quantity of material" needed for the letters. One person still has
not responded and has until March 5 to do so.

He expected a final report in March, because "obviously there is some interconnection
between those responses and the final response".

Mr Nassios said the failed deadline became clear in early November.

"Half of the cost of this investigation has been expended from September
onwards in an attempt to finalise this as quickly as possible," he told
the committee.

"That is the expenditure with the Australian Government Solicitor.

was my first big thread showing THE GLOBAL PLOT,
that 'Ciggy & Co. = also my literal attackers', also
just had to, so stupidly, attack the facts of the evidence
that MADE MY CASE.

Well, here you go; 'YOUR' OWN SIDE'S LEADER,

Typically what most well intensioned Australians do not understand
when they vote green is that they are not voting for the environment
but a global scientific oppressive dictatorship.

Our sovereignty as a nation will no longer exist and our right
to vote for leaders will no longer exist.

If you listen to what British politicians are saying about the United Europe
is that they have a European President that is not democratically elected
and that is a small feature of a united world, except they often quote that
communist China should be the model on which this New World Order be
built. I don't know about you but I'm not prepared to give up our
constitution for one like China's.Think about it!!! This video
originally uploaded by youtube user wakeup2thelies I thank him for
bringing this to my attention,he has about 8000+ views but I feel many
more Aussies need to see and know what is being planned by these so
called greens. Our government is not listening to us, just the beginning
of the nightmare that could unfold.

(Note: the poster of this video seems to only have a 'worldly' 'understanding' of
The Really Big Picture, going by their lack of understanding of 'Who' 'China' ARE.)

Oh and remember, it was after YEARS of
"tintin/Ciggy/Cheeb and Co. et al",
FAILING TO COUNTER THE EVIDENCE
I posted, and FAILING TO FIND A
HUMAN SOURCE FOR THE THINGS
I DISCOVERED THROUGH THE STUDY
OF GOD'S WORD, that "tintin" got sent
to spy me out in my own home.

In those 3 weeks stay here, "tintin" also
DID DISCOVER that the ONLY 'Connection'
I have, is my LOVE and TRUST in
THE CREATOR GOD and HIS FAITHFUL WORD.

And so, the murderous violence against me,
was stepped up, in an effort to have me, AND
OTHERS, FEAR and COWER TO "Them",
instead of TRUSTING THE SAVING GRACE of GOD.

And sure, "they" may yet 'succeed' at ending my
mortal 'life', but if only one person comes to See
and Understand that what 'GREENS' BOB BROWN
is now GLOBALLY, PUBLICLY touting, IS WHAT
GOD WARNED US TO WATCH FOR, SO THAT WE
KNOW HE DOES EXIST, AND, KEEPS ALL HIS WORD,
then my imperfect mortal 'life' will not have been wasted.

Well of course, after Seeing and Understanding "they"
still have to choose to repent of man's Religions (like
the Religiously held beliefs in 'Green' PROPAGANDA),
and accept GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT of TRUTH, and sadly,
too many who DO See and Understand, still CHOOSE
to FIGHT TO THE DEATH, AGAINST THE CREATOR and
SAVIOUR of LIFE.

One third of Australia’s land is desert. Australia has 10 deserts of which the largest is the Great Victoria Desert, covering just under 5 percent of the country. The Great Victoria Desert covers 348,750 square kilometres which makes it around one and a half times bigger than the UK or slightly smaller than Montana.

Do you know any truths/facts? It doesn't seem so....hmmmmmmmmmmmm........

thinking hmm noway

Australia’s first recorded earthquake after white settlement occurred at Port Jackson, New South Wales in June, 1788 and lasted for about 3 seconds.

Other earthquakes recorded in early Australian history were:

■Hobart in 1827
■South Australia 1837
■Melbourne in 1841
■Perth in 1849.
The first recorded deaths in Australia caused by earthquakes occurred in 1902, at Warooka, South Australia. Two people died of shock after a Richter magnitude 6.0 earthquake.

A train line damaged by an earthquake
In 1917, one miner died and 5 were injured in an underground rock fall triggered by an earthquake in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

In the last 80 years, there have been 17 earthquakes in Australia registering 6.0 or more on the Richter Scale. This is a rate of about one earthquake every five years, compared to the world average of about 140 per year.

Although the larger Australian earthquakes have caused significant damage, they are much smaller in strength than the world's most-damaging earthquakes. Until Newcastle's December 1989 earthquake, the damage caused by earthquakes in Australia had been comparatively low.

Quakes that Shook the Nation
Here is a list of some of the major earthquakes to have occured in Australia in recent times:

1 March 1954, Adelaide, South Australia
Adelaide was awakened by a loud rumbling sound. This was followed by shaking, severe enough to crack walls and loosen plaster and chimneys from many houses. Although minor compared to many overseas quakes, the Adelaide earthquake was (at magnitude 5.4) severe enough to cause damage estimated at $350 million (1997 values). No serious injuries were reported.

October 1968, Meckering, Western Australia
One of the more serious Australian earthquakes in fairly recent years occurred at the small town of Meckering. Residents reported seeing ground waves as well as experiencing difficulty when driving as the 6.9 Richter magnitude earthquake struck. Old buildings collapsed, railway lines were buckled and pipelines fractured, and a 37 kilometres long fault scarp (up to 2.5 metres high) was caused. Sixteen injuries were reported and the total cost of damage estimated $50 million.

22 January 1988, Tennant Creek, Northern Territory
Significant earthquakes of magnitudes 6.3, 6.4 and 6.8 occurred near Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. These resulted in large, long ground ruptures and a 35 kilometre fault (up to 2 metre displacement) which warped underground gas pipelines, but caused only minor damage to the hospital and some homes in the town.

28 December 1989, Newcastle, New South Wales
At 10.27am, Newcastle, Australia's sixth largest city, was partially devastated by a moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale. The Newcastle earthquake, the first lethal one in Australia, claimed 13 lives.

The devastation to buildings and other structures was extensive, which was unusual for a relatively-small magnitude earthquake. This was due mainly to an underlying, thin layer of alluvium, which appeared to magnify ground motion (shaking). The epicentre was located 15km West Southwest of the city centre, near Boolaroo.

August 1994, Ellalong, New South Wales
A damaging earthquake again affected the Hunter region of NSW, this time in the Ellalong-Cessnock area. Measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale, it became our third most-damaging. Several homes, hotels and other buildings suffered seriously and up to 1,000 homes were partly damaged. Infrastructure, commercial and industrial losses also occurred. Insurance payouts were $38 million and total damage costs exceeded $150 million (1997 values).

The End of a Myth

A map showing the Earth's tectonic plates and
earthquake zones.
(see the text on the left for more information)
Despite Australia's seemingly low-risk situation in the middle of one of Earth's larger tectonic plates, we have had many earthquakes larger than that of Newcastle. The map to the right shows that Australia is in the middle of the Australian-Indian Plate.

The Australian Geological Survey Organisation in Canberra estimates that on average, the Australian region experiences an earthquake of at least this size, or larger, every 13-15 months.

Most of these earthquakes have been in low populated areas, so for many years people thought Australia could not be affected by this natural disaster. The Newcastle experience dispelled this myth!

Australian Geology
Due to Australia's geological position, we are prone to what seismologists call 'intra-plate' earthquakes.

These are different to the more familiar plate-margin earthquakes, common in areas like California in the USA and in Japan.

It stretches from Portland in the west to Craigieburn in the east and from Clunes in the north to Colac in the south.........................................“ There are around 400 volcanoes stretching from the Western District of Victoria into the Western Uplands around Ballarat wave and to the north of Melbourne around Kyneton and Kilmore, in some parts of the Eastern Uplands such as to the north of Benambra, and across to the South Australian border near Mt Gambier.
A volcanic eruption in the Western Uplands could potentially see lava flows and ash falls impacting on Melbourne.

There is also similar volcano risk present in various provinces in Far North Queensland, stretching from south-west of Townsville to near Cairns and up to Cooktown in the Far North. There are more than 380 volcanoes in total across this part of Queensland.
A future eruption in any of these regions would be unlikely to come from an existing volcano (as the volcanoes there are generally considered to be 'once only’ erupters).
Rather, future eruptions would occur at new sites nearby.
The geological record shows that new volcanoes in these areas have erupted perhaps every 2000 years in the past 40,000 years—and given there has not been a major eruption there for the past 5000 years, a significant eruption seems well overdue. " (3)
