UK government plans to spy on people, is this right?

Read this article here:

Another example of a crazy plan for the UK government to spy on everything you're doing. Is this right or is this seriously wrong? They plan to be able to have the power to monitor all your emails and contact with others online. Also they plan to monitor what websites you visit and could at any point suddenly pick on you or use you as a target if you do something online that they don't like the look of.

What does this mean for the people who download pirate material? Anybody who visits sites that are well known for people who download Peer 2 Peer (from computer to computer) then they can gather information about what you're doing and possibly take action!

It is crazy really, like they could even track your movements of say what forums you visit and what you say on them.

To me this feels like eventually you won't be able to set a foot wrong online thanks to our wonderful government rolling pin

It will take our freedom away online, whatever you do online now Big Brother will be watching and does this mean that the internet in the UK is now doomed in the knowledge of that people can watch you do everything and even read your private emails to your friends?

Makes me wanna live here less and less.... I'd rather go and live somewhere else, this UK place, another example of why it's beginning to suck so much r eyes

i PERSONALLY THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA cIGAR AND NO IT IS NOT SNOOPING, IT IS SAFETY MEASURE OF EXTREME CARE AND CONSIDERATION. Look if someone was constanlty downloading scat porn or something and wanted to work in something delicate, then records will show that the man is not to be trusted at all. And Oi Haggie, the NWO is good thing which protects not squanders.

Hi Tis,

I was just talking to my mate and he recommended that I watch this video.

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iDq0Tdja4A (Illuminati - The Music Industry Exposed [Full Length])

Looks like pretty scary stuff, my mate just said to me on Facebook he said the world is a scary place. Live in fear I guess, people could be watching you at anytime affraid It's enough to make some people very paranoid indeed.

I don't like the idea of being watched online, it scares me, especially when people are hacking into your private conversations....

I'll admit that I've downloaded stuff before on P2P networks, I do it every now and again because A. I haven't got the money always to be able to buy things sometimes and B. I do it because I don't have much else to do and I've got this broadband service which might as well be as of some use. I've been downloading P2P stuff for years, ever since I first got internet I used to download MP3s and stuff like in the days of Napster. Everybody was doing that back then. I don't always download stuff but I like to use my internet sometimes for enterainment purposes and I know plenty of people who also do this. But is this wrong? If I can't afford to buy entertainment and I download it instead is it wrong? In the first place I can't afford these things anyway as I'm quite poor considering all the things I have to pay out for every month like my rent etc... Costs me a dam fortune. If I did download P2P stuff then should I be nervous about this? If they're watching me, I'm not the only one though there's millions of people who do the same.

I don't take drugs, I don't steal cars, I don't mug old ladies, I'm not a burgular. I might download the odd thing on Peer 2 Peer, does this mean that I'm such a bad person, it's the only thing I do that's bad. It's silly really, you have the internet and a whole world of things at your fingertips how can people not use these forms of technology if it's already there and people are already taking full advantage of it?
