Feedtime - Nobody's Fault But My Own
feedtime puts their distinct spin on this Blind Willie Johnson gospel classic.
"Nobody's fault but mine, nobody's fault but mine. If I don't read, my soul'll be lost. Nobody's fault but mine. Got a bible in my home, got a bible in my home. If I don't read it, my soul'll be lost. Nobody's fault but mine."

Mazzy Star - I'm Sailing
I'm sailin' sailin'
To a place I've never seen
That's way down south
Sweet 'ol New Orleans
Cause my hometown friend treats me awful mean
If I could holler
Yeah holler
If I could scream and cry
It hurts me so
When I look up in the sky
Cause my friends turn their heads
As they pass me by
Now it's rainin'
It's rainin'
The wind's blowin' cold
Lord I thought I heard
My train whistle blow
Now I'm gonna sail so far
Til I won't be back no more
Pardon me, Pardon me
It's so hard to stand
I ain't got no money
Uncle Sam has called my name
Now there's not a soul
To give me a helpin' hand
To a place I've never seen
That's way down south
Sweet 'ol New Orleans
Cause my hometown friend treats me awful mean
If I could holler
Yeah holler
If I could scream and cry
It hurts me so
When I look up in the sky
Cause my friends turn their heads
As they pass me by
Now it's rainin'
It's rainin'

Huggy Bear - Steppin On Bugs
with no cash i consequently trash
my heart goes by me
equilibrium such an easy luxury
contradiction or addiction to diversion
just thinking what me&you could do
with no cash i consequently TRASH
i don't pay for what i say
but i die when it's priceless&easy forgotten
i don't wonder just aimless around
notes of depression equals our future now
i'm going out of my mind, out of my mind
IT'S SAVED BY YOU ON MY SIDE, FOREVER
my heart goes by me
equilibrium such an easy luxury
contradiction or addiction to diversion
just thinking what me&you could do
with no cash i consequently TRASH
i don't pay for what i say

Lou Reed - Billy
Billy was a good friend of mine
We grew up together ever since we were nine
We went to school, he was my best friend
And I thought our friendship would never end
In high school he played football
And me, I didn't do anything at all
He made touch-downs, while I played pool
And no one could figure out which one of us was the fool
Then we both went to collage
He studied medicine while I studied foliage
He got A's and I got D's
He was going for his Ph.D.
Then I decided to drop out
Things were getting a little too hot
Billy stayed there, became an intern and then a doctor
Then war broke out and he had to go
But not me, I was mentally unfit, or so they say, so, so
When he came back, he wasn't quite the same
His nerves were shot, but not me
Last time I saw him, I couldn't take it anymore
He wasn't the Billy I knew, it was like talking to a door
Billy was a friend of mine
I grew up with him ever since I was nine
We went together through school
And now I often wonder, which one of us was the fool
We grew up together ever since we were nine
We went to school, he was my best friend
And I thought our friendship would never end
In high school he played football
And me, I didn't do anything at all

Bryan Ferry - These Foolish things
(Strachey/Marvell/ Link)
A cigarette that bears a lipstick's traces,
An airline ticket to romantic places,
And still my heart has wings...
These foolish things remind me of you.
A tinkling piano in the next apartment,
Those stumbling words that told you what my heart meant,
A fairground's painted swings...
These foolish things remind me of you.
You came, you saw,
You conquered me.
When you did that to me,
I knew somehow this had to be.
The winds of March that made my heart a dancer,
A telephone that rings,
And who's to answer?
Oh, how the ghost of you clings...
These foolish things remind me of you.
The first daffodil and long excited cables,
And candle lights on little corner tables,
And still my heart has wings...
These foolish things remind me of you.
The park at evening when the bell has sounded,
The 'Ile-de-France' with all the gulls around it,
The beauty that is spring's...
These foolish things remind me of you.
How strange, how sweet
To find you still,
These things are dear to me,
They seem to bring you near to me.
The sigh of midnight trains in empty stations,
Silk stockings tossed aside, dance invitations.
Oh, how the ghost of you clings!
These foolish things remind me of you...
These foolish things remind me of you.
A cigarette that bears a lipstick's traces,
An airline ticket to romantic places,
And still my heart has wings...

Roxy Music - Editions Of You
Now you know why Ferry kicked Eno out of the band,it was hard to take your eyes of Eno.
(Ferry)
Well I'm here looking through an old picture frame
Just waiting for the perfect view
I hope something special will step in to my life
Another fine edition of you
A pin-up done in shades of blue
Sometimes you find a yearning for the quiet life
The country air and all its joys
But badgers couldn't compensate at twice the price
For just another night with the boys oh yeah
And boys will be boys, will be boys
They say love's a gamble, hard to win, easy lose
And while sun shines you'd better make hay
So if life is your table and fate is the wheel
Then let the chips fall where they may
In modern times the modern way...ay...ay...ay
And as I was drifting past the Lorelei
I heard those slinky sirens wail - whooo
So look out sailor when you hear them croon
You'll never be the same again oh no
Their crazy music drives you insane - this way
So love me, leave me. do what you will
Who knows what tomorrow might bring?
Learn from your mistakes is my only advice
And stay cool is still the main rule
Don't play yourself for a fool
Too much cheesecake too soon
Old money's better than new
No mention in the latest Tribune
And don't let this happen to you.

The Breeders - Safari
Lyrics - Safari
He didn't cry on a safari
In over his knees
He couldn't leave a finer life
Always hugging the ground
And crying out for me
He didn't cry on a safari
In over his knees
He couldn't leave the flock, he couldn't leave
always hugging the man
and crying out for me
...(Fave track by The Breeders, besides Iris,Opened and Doe,from that era)

In over his knees
He couldn't leave a finer life
Always hugging the ground
And crying out for me
He didn't cry on a safari
In over his knees
He couldn't leave the flock, he couldn't leave

Heavens To Betsys - My Red Self
Favourite song for last year or so...Just can't stop listening to it.About menstrual cycles, unsympathetic men and an intimate exploration of the feelings experienced...
Billy Ruben wrote:From Youtube Channel,
Favourite Riot Grrrl band,Heavens To Betsys, two songs featured in this video, the touching and intimate My Red Self, delving into issues surrounding womens menstrual cycles and unsympathetic men,and My Secret a near war-like anthem about being molested as minors and seeking revenge and exposure. These two, plus Stay Dead are the most loved of this genre of music.Credit to you Corine Tucker, brilliant.
MY RED SELF:
What is the color, the color of shame? is it red? is it blood, blood red? does it creep out from my two legs, up to my face, if you notice the stain?
Never wear white or your shame will creep thru. never wear white or your shame will creep right thru.
Is this the rag you use to humiliate me, cuz i was born, i was born a girl? is this the rag you use to humiliate me cuz i was born, i was born to bleed.
Never wear white, or your shame will creep thru. never wear white or your shame will creep right thru.
What is the color, the color of shame? i know it's red. i know its blood, blood red. is this the period too long, too strange for you to understand?
So you make me hide the truth from you! so you make me hide my red self from you!
Uh uh uh oh, uh oh. uh uh uh oh, uh oh.
MY SECRET
my secret is coming out. and each word, I live it out. what you did caused me some pain, and I won't go through this again.
I am to the end (?), it happened to my best friend, I'll tell again and again what you did to us when we were only ten.
my secret is really true. this song, these words are a threat to you. a knife in you I'd stick it in. listen, listen I'm about revenge.
I am getting through this; I am living through this. I'll tell again and again. I'll tell again and again.
my secret is coming out. and each word, I live it out. the truth, the truth will get you in the end. and my secret is that
I want you dead (4x)

The Dead Kennedys - Terminal Preppie
Best punk lyric writer of all time,Jello Biafra. The best punk, ever.
I go to college
That makes me so cool
I live in a dorm
And show off by the pool
I join the right clubs
Just to build an impression
I block out thinking
It won't get me ahead
My ambition in life
Is to look good on paper
All I want is a slot
In some big corporation
John Belushi's my hero
I lampoon and I ape him
My news of the world
Comes from Sports Illustrated
I'm proud of my trophies
Like my empty beer cans
Stacked in rows up the wall
To impress all my friends
No, I'm not here to learn
I just want to get drunk
And major in business
And be taught how to fuck
Win! Win!
I always play to win
Wanna fit in like a cog
In the faceless machine
Chorus
I'm a terminal terminal terminal preppie
terminal terminal terminal preppie
terminal terminal terminal terminal
terminal terminal terminal terminal
I want a wife with tits
Who just smiles all the time
In my centerfold world
Filled with Springsteen and wine
Some day I'll have power
Some day I'll have boats
A tract in some suburb
With Thanksgivings to host
Chorus
I'm a terminal terminal terminal preppie
terminal terminal terminal preppie
terminal terminal terminal preppie
I go to college
That makes me so cool
I live in a dorm
And show off by the pool
I join the right clubs

The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
For tomorrows war-children
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)
Oh, a storm is threat'ning
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Ooh, see the fire is sweepin'
My very street today
Burns like a red coal carpet
Mad bull lost its way
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
The floods is threat'ning
My very life today
Gimme, gimme shelter
Or I'm gonna fade away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
I tell you love, sister, it's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
Kiss away, kiss away
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)
